suspension help required

Well on momnday the car is going in for gearbox problems, anyway I want to change the front and rear suspension , now i have looked into performance suspension but i like the way the car drives at the moment so i was thinking of standard stiff from German,swedish and french.

Question- what is it that i need? obviously struts, springs, top mount, top bearing what else? Anybody help. Rears- just struts?

Question 2 - is it worth buying lowing springs for the front, not a massive drop as there are loads of humps where i live, has anyone done this on standard shocks? and how much should i pay for the torsion bar to be lowered?

Is there anything else i need to consider? oh yeah running standard rims as they are Phase1s

I have the money bondy but I wanna get my car cleaned up, just a respray maybe a blue flek put into it, i wanna get this gearbox sorted first. Believe me Bondy if i had post this a week ago I would have had them off you, as i was seriously considering it. But i love the way the 16v handles and why change it, and AK_uk will tell you there is not many valvers round here, so races and short sprints come about alot. Also if my missus finds out im spending all this cash on the car and not saving for the house, i will take a beatin.
