  A special one.
Hi all, my cars having a suspension set up tomorrow morning after me fitting my Spax Coilover kit.

What camber should i get them to set the car at, i was thinking 1.5 deg - on the front???? And what other setting should i make sure i get?

My car is just used as a weekend toy and i haven't done any trackdays, i thought i would ask just so i get the best settings possible and in case they set the car up on "standard factory settings"

Thanks Scott.

I had 1.5 degrees on the front as a starting point with my rsx.
Seems good so far. Not really had a chance to properly play with it yet though.
Don't know about other settings

Cheers, to late now i think as its booked in for 8.30.
Ill have to get them to set the front at -1.5 and see where the other settings go, the company are a motorsport set up so they should be fine i just wanted to have some info in case i needed to point them in the right direction.

Isn't there 'toe' to be set too? No idea what the figure is though. PM chip. Sure he can point you in right direction.

For my car I went for -2.5 degrees if camber with 5 mins of toe out and it feels really really good both on road and track.

Ok cheers, will -2.5 not be to much for the road and knock the tyres out??
I dont use the car very much tbh but i do have a blast in it when i do.

yes that's too much for a road car. better to run less camber, and add caster with cup arms. Remember too much camber reduces the contact patch in a straight line, which can make traction worse under acceleration, and braking.

How did the set up go Scott?
Hi mate yes it went well tbh, i got them to check the ride height which was fine so no adjustment needed there.

They set the camber at 1 deg - which tbh will be ok as i dont do trackdays and theres only so fast you can drive it on the road, even when i do go for a blast im always worried about smashing it up.

It drives very well now and the steering wheel is nice and straight (hasn't been in a while and was bugging me, big time)

Cheers Scott

Cheers mate, i have the PH1 arms with Powerflex bushes and ive had them powder coated so i wont be changing them anytime soon.

Car drives nice, 14 clicks on the front and 12 on the rear.....Im happy. :)

Good stuff. Slightly different to mine. I think I'm 14 on the rear and 12 on front. With -1.5 camber.
Don't know what toe I'm running though. Can't remember!
Have fun with it.
You still undecided on whether your keeping it or not?

Well last night i ordered a rear exhaust mount from Prima Racing and im just about to order the engine mount kit from KTR and maybe a de-cat (might put up a wanted post for that) and if i dont like it then i can sell it on with not alot of ££££ lost :D

Going to keep it mate, the Fiesta needs alot of work and i know i will get fed up with building and not being able to drive it. The engine will be more than the Clio is worth, around 3k+ so ill have no car and a old Fiesta that still needs loads.
Ill end up putting all my spare money into it as well as ill want it finished, least with the Clio i can do bits as and when, if i have no money i can still drive it.
I also like this site, people seem nice and helpful the XR site all seem "in with each other" not very helpful...Cnuts...lol
The Clio wont go down in value as long as i look after it, might even get some cams for it in the spring....;)

I thought you would have been more on the front because of the weight of the engine, also to hard on the rear makes it twitchy i would have thought???

I wanted the rear a bit more lively. Seems to be working at the moment. But the real test will be when the roads are dry and sticky. And I possibly get it on track!

na you want compliance in the front (ie soft) and rock hard rear = quick car IMO
