Suspension, thinking of changing from B14's - opinions?

Hi,

I have B14's which seem great for fast road but I will race the car later this year and after hearing some good stuff about Gaz gold I was considering.... until I searched on the forum!

I have also heard bad stuff about AST customer service and time to replace parts.

Do I have any other options for a race spec car?

Thanks

Lee

Curtis at AST is a busy guy though so can be best to call rather than email contact. Never had a problem with parts availability or delivery time personally. Swapping out my SL1's to SL2's next month-the 1's aren't a bad bit of kit, but the inverted cartridge in the SL2 is obviously a better load bearer. Aside from being fully rebuildable and adjustable, they're series modular too so you can have them upgraded to external canisters at a later date should you wish.

Reiger seem to get good reviews too, Ian uses them on his Godspeed Cup Rally.

I would run away from GAZ as fast as you possibly can. Nothing good to say about them.

AST are exceptional, with a pricetag to match. Curtis knows an amazing amount about suspension.

Considered Spax? I can help you out with specifications and custom spring rates if you need, although the stock spring rates are very good

Thanks Dan, is the sportline 2 kit sufficient for racing?

Not heard anything about the Spax, do you have any info?

Forgot about the spax, also worth a look :) Spax spring rates for track are similar to the KW track spring rates right Dan?

If you go AST the 80n fronts are probably a good starting point if its a track toy. Rear on mine is a 60n progressive from memory, fairly soft/forgiving.

Not sure how much you'd need to up the rates by for slicks.

Are there any race cars currently running this version of Spax?

Do KW make a Clubsport version for the Clio?
