Switch on the slam panel.

Hi what is the switch for on the slam panel? Mine has broke off oops. Do i need it? Lee.

The bonnet sensor? It's for the alarm.

Yeah pretty sure its a bonnet open/closed sensor for the alarm

yes i thought this, my mates 172 dosnt have 1 its missing, maybe the wires have been twisted somewhere so the car thinks its constantly shut

Mine has broken off and the alarm still works. Thats why i was wondering. Oh and thanks guys for the info .

disconnected, the alarm just thinks the bonnet is shut so not a problem.

Anyone know how to remove the switch? It's too big to pull through the hole. Ewww errr

Problem solved. Had another go in anger and two parts came off the car. Thought I had broken it but turns out it's designed to split in half.
