Syncing an Ipod to a laptop ...

Is there a piece of software that does this without installing all that itunes shop crap that i'll never use or is that my only option ??

I presume it's Windows, as iTunes is installed by default on OSX.

Got Linux on main comp & no probs with software

But laptop(which aint mine) Windows XP pish
