T Cutting Light Scratches, anyone have experience?

  Clio 182FF
Greetings!

I aim to sort a few light scratches on the car and have some T Cut for metalic paint, t cut scratch repairer and t cut polish for silver paint. Question is whats the best way to go about using it? I don't have an electric polisher or anything so which should I use?

umm basically you just put some on a cloth and rub it in, leave a couple of minutes then rub off. Chances are it will only hide it until you next wash it though, good for getting paint off though lol.

i always find colour T Cut or wax for the areas of scratches more useful as it does mask them a bit, but when u wash it, the scratches will usually reappear.

How deep are the Scuffs?? Catch them if you run your nail over them??

I used "safe cut" (T-cut by turtle wax) on my clio just after I had it, had some v light scratches/small scuffs on every corner but they all dissapeard and it's been washed like 8-9 times since then and they havn't came back :S lol

i would personally recommend not to use tcut purely because it cuts the aint back thus making it thinner - correct me if u want but thats what i have been informed

Put the T cut down, dont ever pick it up again. As said above, can you feel it when you run your nail accross the scratch? If you can, its a case of damage control if it is - rather than fixing it.

T Cut its rubbish due to the harsh abrasives in it, its akin to taking a sledgehammer to a wallnut. Megs do a product called Scratch X which should suit your needs, bit kinder to the paintwork :p

Should I just take the car to a professional - the scratches are very light from where the wolly who cleaned it obviously didn't have a clean sponge. I do plan to have her resprayed at some point.

if you use t-cut just don't rub it to hard. if its a very light scratches sand it down with 2000+ grit wet and dry VERY LIGHTLY - then if any of your friends has a udm/pc get them to come round and polish it.

The metallic type is much less harsh than the original stuff, I used the metallic stuff on previous cars painted alloys in the past & it worked well.
You may want to try some of the megs stuff scratchX 2.0 or swirlX are meant to be better / safer options.

Any polish in theory makes paint thinner.

Just t-cut the scratch, then use autoglym SRP over the top to give a smoother finish as T-cut is harsh
