Tail gate not opening. Ideas?

Hi all from Queensland Downunder
sorry my first post has to be asking for help... Just received my 182 clio cup a 2 days ago and I cant open the tail gate. Obviously I push the button inside the Renault symbol...but nada. No click and no opening. Anyone had this or got ideas on how to deal with this?
