Tailgate struts

Am I correct in that BMW 1 series bonnet struts can be fitted in replacement for the original tailgate struts? Mine are knackered.

I have these fitted . They're good quality. If anything , they're a bit stronger than the originals .

BMW 1 series bonnet struts for use with the 182 Trophy / Phase 2 V6 spoiler. Otherwise just get replacement Clio ones. I bought some the other year, think they were about £13 new off ebay.
