tapping noise

hi all
im getting a tapping noise when i press the accelerator and when lifting off,
its not constant, it only happens for a couple of seconds, it happenes in every gear but not when idle, its more noticable at lower speeds,
any help would be great

Checked your oil level on the dipstick (Not the dash ELC) recently?

yea it does need a drop of oil.
how would this mak the noise

depends on how low it is... low oil levels can reduce oil pressure which in turn can cause tapping noises. When waas it last serviced?

I changed the oil about 5k miles ago. it's jus above the min mark on the dipstick
gonna go top it up with a litre. but has been this low before but never experienced the tapping
it's gradually gettin worse which seems to me as something is coming loose
I've just had a new zorst fitted but checked that and seems fine

yeah it would need to be really low for it to cause tapping... lower than the min mark at least.

Can you recreate the noise with your head under the bonet or will it only do it when the car is in motion?

topped it up, still tapping. I've noticed it only happens when the car has warmed up.
it only happens while driving and in gear. it's when I press and release the accelerator, which made me think it could have something to do with the body roll of the car
knowing me it's probably somethin really simple
