Taxing a car i literally just bought

Hi, i just got a new car, however the tax runs out at the end of this month. I need to get new tax but i cant do it on the internet as it says i need the whole V5. Not just the green slip.

What do i do?

Can i go to a post office and do it there?

As above you need the V5 (the new owners slip from the V5 will do), MOT certificate and a certificate of motor insurance. I know they can check the MOT by computer for you now, not sure what the deal is with insurance though.
