Someone clear this up for me please Youll have to forgive my insecurity with this.
Currently applying to IBM for a tech solutions grad scheme. What made me decide to apply...
I decided to go have a look on wiki jobs and have a look at what sort of things I might go through in interview, came across some "technical interview" questions.
My degree has been primarily network based. In fact, its been all about networking with some project management, business info systems etc thrown in - Thats why I did it, had an attractive curriculum all the way through and Ive learned a LOT..... about networking.
So frankly I dont know anything about data bases. I have no interest in software engineering what so ever and no knowlege of it.
Should I bother applying?
I literally regret doing my degree, I WISH I could go back in time and tell myself not to do it, and go do a decent degree at a proper uni like Computer Science (Local uni is mainly programming based).

The term 'Technology Solutions Specialist' is fairly all encompassing. In reality it can involve any aspect of IT including Business Analysis, Application Development, Database Design, Package Customisation and Implementation, Testing, Support, Networking and Junior Project management.

Some of the questions you may be asked during the IBM technical interview are as follows:
- What isRDBMS, DBMS and what is the difference?
- Explain about a main frame and its uses?
- What are stored procedures?
- Explain some ways through which a database can be exploited?
