Telling insurance. Lowering?

  Black Sheep
I am getting my 172 lowered 25mm on fri and was wondering if any other people bother to tell thier insurance company that it has been lowered 25mm ect, as i am not doing anything else modding wise. How much extra has it cost for any people who have decided to come clean and tell them to avoid any problems. I currently pay £680 fully comp with admiral and would like to be legitamate like i am now but not if its going to be a rip off anyone else done this with admiral?

  GW 200 Gone :( BG182
Cost me an extra £20 with admiral the other year for lowering springs, better safe than sorry pal

  Megane 225 Cup
I always list every single mod i have even silly things like silicone hoses

Im with Adrian flux and the premium only goes up if i have added power over stock

  Listerine & Poledo
tell them, otherwise when you get into some sort of scrape, they'll use it as a perfectly legitimate way to null your policy.

then you'll be an uninsured driver, which, in the eyes of the Daily Mail, is only a few steps short of being Hitler

Cheers for the info guys if it is twenty quid as sanders says from admiral last year for the springs then it should be that this year will def tell them tomorrow was just worried about some obscene £150 or something.

  Not a 320d
My b*****ds wanted an extra £20 for coilovers.

Then i had to renew this year and it was an extra £100 or so over my last premium.

Ring the pigs up and ask what It would cost as you are considering having them fitted.

The 20 pound was just for how long you had left I changed cars going from 1.2 punto to my 1.4 Clio andi had to pay 130 just for the 5 months I had left with them. When I came to renew my renewal price was 300 pound more than last years!

Make sure you tell admiral its not a big drop else they will refuse to insure you. Not sure how much iirc.

Pirce wise...shouldn't be much. For me on my leon, to declare a remap was £17 iirc, lowering springs were around £20ish and my R8 brakes were nothing.

Just be aware that to remove mods with Admiral, they require a letter from a garage to say the car is standard. (I got a mate to fax them one for me)

As Toby said, ring them, ask how much it would be as you're considering doing it....
If it's cheap, then do it. If it's obscene then just keep it standard.
