Temp gauge

Hi

My temp gauge in the car will reach half way then couple mins after drops a bar then few more miles reaches the middle again. This happened every time it's running :/

Any ideas?

Sounds like the thermostat needs replacing.

well was unsure as it has fluctuation. Was wondering if temp sensor?

My 172 has done this a couple of times now, and both times a new thermostat fixed the issue.
