Temperature On dash???

Got in my car this morning to go to work, and on the dash display, the temperate read 44degrees?! On my drive to lincoln and back it fluctuated between 35-45.

Is it a faulty thermostat or dash?
Im confused?

Had this same problem a while back and it turned out it was the sensor (little thing that sticks out of the bottom of the passenger wing mirror). I just replaced it and it went back to normal.

Not sure if you can buy them from Renault, although I imagine you can (for an extortionate price no doubt).
I got mine second hand on here so maybe have an ask around, or alternatively go to a scrappies?
