Tesco 99 or the cold?

I drive pretty smoothly most of the time, the traffic doesn't allow anything else. But on each journey, I make sure it goes through the gears properly at least once.

I've always run my Cup on Optimax since new, and normally by now would have 37-38 showing on my mpg avg.

After 2/3 of its first ever tank of Tesco 99, at the moment I've got 34.

Could it be the cold weather...or is it the fuel, or is something else f***ed because it's definately not my driving?

I guess I'll have to chuck in a full tank of Optimax and see what happens.

my guess would be cold weather.

I use Optimax all the time and tend to get around 30-33 on average.

Don't they put something in the fuel in Winter times to avoid frezing?
I know it sounds daft But i'm sure I heard it from a reliable source I know.

Your engine should perform better in the cold....my guess: fuel.

That's assuming your using that extra performance available though. If the guy who posted this is a fan of high mpg figures, he's probably driving steadily, and the engine should be more efficient (require less throttle open).
