Thank you, but no thank you!

I rarely venture into this section and today reminded me why. Just taken the Gordini stripes off the wife's 182 and wanted some advice on removing the glue. From doing a search some useful info came up and it made the job slightly easier. Thanks guys.

However, I now have a rekindled hatred for cleaning cars. Don't mind a bucket, sponge and drying cloth (polish even if I'm pushing the boat out), but the effort needed to get the paint looking acceptable again today was ridiculous. The 3 year old trying to help nearly tipped me over the edge as well lol. Fair play to you all because you seem to love doing it and spend plenty of time and money getting your cars looking amazing. From now on I'm firmly in the camp that pays other people to do it :). I'll stick to the mechanical jobs.

For future reference, any good detailers around Bolton that don't charge silly money?

If you stay on top of it, it'll be easy every time you do it.

I quite like cleaning the car.

If you fancy a day out in Chester/Cheshire oaks with the family, I'll spend a day on the car for you :)

Ill give it a good going over then it'll be easy for you to stay on top of.

Haha I am well a truly out of touch with keeping my car clean, last cleaned in december infact. Longest I have ever been since passing my test.

Cars a state but it really needs a 'proper job' and I simply don't have the resources or time these days.

How easy were the stripes to take off? And is the paint noticeably different underneath? Was thinking of doing mine! Cheers

Fine when warmed up, hot water poured on them is fine. There is a slight shade difference from the paint having faded (you need to be looking for it though) and some residual glue will need removing that can be a little time consuming. My pal's getting the machine polisher on it next week though.
