Thatcham 1 or 2

  GW Clio 200

Is the Clio Cuo Thatcham 1 or Thatcham 2 approved ??

It say immobiliser is Thatcham 2 and alarm is Thatcham 1

Exactly that.

You tell the insurance company that the alarm meets the Thatcham CAT 1 specification, and the immobiliser meets the Thatcham CAT 2 specification.

sorry bud but according to at least 10 major companies I rang, it didnt make the blind bit of difference to them when I said that my broker sourced 172 did not have a cat 1 alrm, just the immobiliser from the factory, they think the engine not working when someone breaking in is more beneficial than an audible alarm!!

Yup, its the immobiliser thats the important thing...

My old 306 Rallye had no alarm, but a Cat 2 transponder immobiliser and when I was buying it I decided Id get a pukka Cat 1 alarm system, but on ringing several insurance companies I was told it made no difference to my policy so I didnt bother!
