The forgotten wow!!

In this nice weather Ive been driving with the windows up and the air con on, in the winter Ive been driving with the windows up....

So yesterday, I decided to leave off the air con and give it a blast with the windows down............WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didnt realise how nice the car sounds............only been driving it for 6 months and just found out!!! DOH!!

Anyway, I used up half a tank of petrol blasting it around at high revs, this could become expensive!!! :D:cool:

Ive had exactly the same problem this week. A couple of times I had the climate control on, mainly when on the motorway, but most the time Ive had the window down. The CC does really seem to suck fuel too.

Nothing like dropping a cog when going through a tunnel :D

Ive just cleared 4k miles and all of a sudden the exhaust note has got a lot louded and a lot deeper. Me likes :D

OMG, that reminds me of the dream I had last night!!! Id got a new louder exhaust!!! God I need help.

Tonight you can look forward to the nightmare that is keeping it clean and polished!

Stop it bambam, its hard enough resisting as it is.

Ive given in trying to keep it clean for more than one day. This morning it just spotted with rain all the way to work, so now even more dust has been attracted to the car.

I blame the CC dogmaul, but it could just be my heavy right foot;), plus driving round with the window open a lot of the time doesnt help matter. In fact its probably worse!!!

Its not just the cooling though - the CC dehumidifies the air and generally improves your quality of life - the aircon still does its job even when the heaters on in winter.

It does keep things fresh in the car.

Ive never really used it since I had a GTi-6. Everytime it kicked in you could really feel the difference to the performance, and the car idled a couple of hundred RPM more.

Id never be without it though.

the noise is great - when driving nicely, its all polite and quiet, then you floor it and it makes a real deep, barrel-chested bellow. It starts shouting at you! I surprised a mate of mine with it when I floored it recently. As the noise suddenly arrived at max volume, he said "where the hell did that come from?". I just grinned. Nice.

Its certainly better than the dream I had the night before, that one left me on a real downer all day!!

Last night I also dreamt Id gone to an old war reunion, and Id been in the war, except everyone else was old now and Id not aged!!

An interesting note is that the drag with the windows open can be even higher than that imposed buy the AC compressor. A car with the windows open can be slower and consume more fuel than one with the windows up and AC on!

Of course the best solution is windows up and no AC, but that can get uncomfortable at times.

I was wondering that Dust. I had a sneezing fit the other morning on the way in to work so decided to put the CC on. Seemed to help.

I assume Clios have pollen filters?

I work in an air conditioned office so when I leave at night it really hits me :(
