the last question on 17 ... :)

ive been looking around for 17", and ive heard that its best to get ET37 offset instead of ET35 to reduce rubbing. anyone who bought 17" do that then ? apparently its more for the back wheels, and u have to take out the rear inner covers or summat. need to get this sorted, cos ill prolly be ordering some in the next week or so ..

youll probably find that you have to take whatevers closest to 36 in a 4x100 pcd. bear in mind that youre talking about a difference of only *1 mm* either inwards (37mm) or outwards (35mm) from standard. so basically it doesnt make sod all difference.

My 215/35/18 are on a 38mm offset and it rubs the inner arch at the front and the top of the bodywork when you turn it full lock. So 1mm here or there makes no difference at all, compared to the difference between the standard 185 tyre and a 215, or in your case a 205 which is 10mm wider inwards and outwards. YOu could theoretically change the offset to get rid of scrub on one side of the wheel - on a 205 tyre youve got to put the wheel outwards 20mm to get rid of the inner arch scrub. So that means an offset of 16mm. Which you cant get very easily!

Or if you wanted to get rid of outer arch scrub youd do the reverse and go for a 56mm offset which you could do with 6 or 7 3mm spacers.

Both stupid ideas and would mess up the handling, so get whatever you can thats near to 36mm and then cut the arches out.
