The possible demise of the site

Right. Being quite new to Clio ownership, but not so new to life( I am a whole year older than Squirt! ), I thought Id chip in on the bullsh*t.

Personally, I believe we shouldnt discriminate against people, usually younger than me, who cant afford top of the range models. We all have to start somewhere.

Secondly, I dont mind the hugging, kissing, sucking and fcking section, as long as it is in a separate section. When you have people in a house( which in this case is a virtual one ), you will have personal issues, and that in my humble opinion is OK.

However, nastiness is something I have not got much tolerance for. If someone does have a personal problem that he or she wishes to talk about, then I think empathy is a good thing, but for those who do not have the "empathic streak", it may be prudent to just keep a lid on it, or we end up in controversies and misunderstandings such as the ones that have recently been displayed here.

People will continue to meet in this new mode of human interaction called a web forum, and some social decorum is mandatory.

So, no need for extended analysis, this just represents the usual interpersonal conflicts that will take place from time to time in a setting such as this.

Squirt, peace be upon you, my child, and on the Captain as well.

Good night.:)

Paul why try and gid rid of these threads as this would be claiming there was something to hide in the first place ?

I think this has been handled well and people are making a bigger deal out of it than it actually is !

Back to the topic - Demise of the site.

DEMISE OF THE SITE MY @RSE!

Ignore the trauma of the last few days and look at whats happening at the moment:

Loads of regional meets. The area reps are doing a great job and theres always something coming up,
Brands Hatch day out - I dont know how Kis gets invites like this (and I dont want to know;)) but this will probably be our biggest meet ever - not what you expect for a club in demise,
Xmas meals, bowling evenings coming up, already talk of massive days out at York next year.
Itll soon be renewal time - lets see how many people stump up their fiver. When you look at the list of events, it seems like the bargain of the century. Keep it up everyone, this is the top car club on the net :D.

Well put Mike.

Im sure the weekends happenings will boil over in time. One thing is for certain, it wont put a dampener on anything that the Club try to do for its members.

Different peoples views are unavoidable, so is the way that people deal with given circumstances. My way of dealing with the weekends postings is to sit back and watch.

See you at Brands ;)

Chavy - Thinking of outsiders mate. Anybody new looking in, thinking about joining. Ive been in this very situation with my own website and I certainly wouldnt want posts like this around.

Just trying to help things along a bit.

Paul

This thread grew quick, big mix of people, there are always going to be disagreements and clickyness, nobody should take anything seriously. Lesser engined clios should not be looked down upon, there is still plenty of people with usefull knowledge to dispense (you only ever have to take advice under suggestion, you can pick what you feel is right yourself).

Given the swell in numbers of members, the topics were always going to be more diverse, but remember if a topic does not appeal to you, dont read it, nobody is making you. I stay in a backwater so for the time being I only have the online part of the club and unfortunetly cannot realistically involve myself in club events, but I do not feel alienated by this at all, its one of the clubs strengths. Everybody should relax and not get so stressed out about inevitable differences between members. I think this is a good workable club, and I havent sampled any of the club events. Do agree the best reading is in the modification/technical forum, but I only read topics that interest me anyway. Hope nobody is taking offense to this thread as it appears that everybody is on similar wavelength anyway, think things seem to have blown up and I reckon everybody voicing there opinion on club will ease things and we wont hear anymore on this thread after a wee while, its not a big deal.

Paul I think people generally expect that every forum is going to have, dare I say an off day, It is good for people to see both sides so when something like this kicks off again people are not surprised and see actually how well based on the last time this happened people just forgot about it and finally got on with it again.

Agreed this post is pointless but you have to take the rough with the smooth as I could say the original post that spurred this all on was also pointless.

To add as well for every 1 bad post there are 100 decent posts mate !

Ive got a 1.2 16v Dynamique. Costs me nowt to run, no insurance for the missus for a year (BIG SAVING!), which meant I could buy some new wheels, a good stereo (I can enjoy 10mph as much as you can enjoy 100mph) and it is maintenance free!

I have met people from the board whilst out on my travels, made a few friends/comtacts.

I want a V6, or a 172, BUT i live in an area where anything nice is nicked!

I have always loved cars, the board is for me to share my passion with others of the same mind.

If you dont like it p!ss off and read another board, easy as that. Dont just sit there and winge your @rse off.

Probably the main reason for the "smaller engined car" boys/girls numbers increasing is the free insurance. But, trust me when I say that once I have the money for a fast car I will have attained the knowledge and experience to pilot it properly, and, hopefully, with the exra knowledge I have gained through hours of trawling throuh forums I will be better at my judgements!

Anyways, rant over.

Keep up the good work, ALL OF U!

Dave, if you think your the one for Mat then good luck to you both. If there is anything you both want to tell the forum we will understand, coz we no longer judge or argue on here.

yeah lads..... theres nothing wrong with batting for the other team

poking the old sausage in the marmite

matbrown-Lol, I know they dont! I dont know bout every1 else, but I came on here 2 make new friends and 2 talk about Clios!

cant be bothered reading through all this silly jazz.

i must admit there is a lot of boring posts, but this is bound to happen. you can only talk about so many topics so many times. i personally find this board very interesting and a great place to find out info.

if your getting that annoyed with the same questions popping up about bodykits etc, then create an FAQ. list the top bodyshops, guides to lowering, stereo installation. its your club and so do your best to improve it. pointless moaning helps nobody
