The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (PC, XBOX ONE, PS4)

Yeah, same here. Killed the bear while I was Level 1. Took a while.

Not sure what to do with that place though. Didn't see any ghouls. Just wolves.

I did this last night funnily enough. It was guarded by 3 Ghouls and easy to kill. Once killed the Ghouls disappear instantly into thin air (no looting opportunities) and a group of 2-3 people appear along with a Herbalist with which you can trade.

Ah, I don't have that bug then. People have returned to that shrine on mine, including a merchant.

I am no longer bug free! Played an hour or so last night and it hasn't saved. Wouldn't let me manually save and seems auto save wasn't working either. Only lost about 30 mins game time and maybe 30 mins faffing about.

I upgraded my Fast Attack to 5/5 but hadn't actually put the skill into the free slot on the right hand side! Doh!! So I put it over and tried it out on a pack of wolves. Made short work of those! Much better. Also had my uprated Quen shield active, too, which delivers an explosive charge when broken.

I'm barely even scratching the surface of the power and skills attributes; there's so many and the fact you can swap and mix them means you can actually work out what will work best on certain enemies. Add that to the Mutagen's and you could have an incredibly powerful combined skill set.

Me too. Never played a Witcher before so took a little time but loving it now. Quen is definitely a must, especially when it's the active shield.

The more I play this the more I get sick of folks (PC version) moaning about the issues and dumbing down of visuals... I think it looks spectacular at times. And, more importantly, there's a pretty solid game underneath too.

!! NSFW !!
Another quick video I knocked up showing a few clips of the game early-on. Edited so as not to (hopefully) spoil the game for others who might want to enjoy it. I think it looks pretty damn good and not really deserving of the excessive negative feedback regarding the 'dumbed' down graphics

Best in 1080p / 60fps if your browser supports it.

So I caved and bought this yesterday. I haven't played it yet, and it'll be the first Witcher game I've played. Hope it's decent!

Will this run well on SLI 780Ti? Tempted to get it for PS4 but I've been reading that the graphics are a bit s**t and that the frame rate sucks? Seems like it could be one for my PC.

I loved Skyrim - will I love this?

Go PC, console frame rate is really poor in places.

Also, there were lots of niggles to iron out and PC doesn't have the same patching restrictions as MS/Sony.

After 4-5 patches it's certainly better on the PC than it was. Size and content wise it s***s on Skyrim, which is saying something

I'm not sure if there are still issues with SLI scaling... may have been improved with recent driver updates and patches. I know Mike was getting low FPS running across his 3 Titan X's... but he was also running at Ultra and beyond at kabillion resolution. I'm happily running at 60fps+ solid on a single EVGA 780 Ti SC+ (but I've had to knock settings from Ultra to high in a couple of settings, and I'm at 1080p / 1200p).

Managed to spend a bit more time playing the game... It's a slow starter but I am really into it now, I gained about 3 levels going through the Dandelion missions!

I am currently at Level 17, with all enhanced Griffin gear... Any enemy under level 10 can be dealt with in 1 - 2 strikes, BOOM.

I'm really struggling to level up on this. Maybe it's because I'm doing primarily side quests and treasure hunts at the moment..? Not that it's a problem because I'm enjoying the game. I'm only level 5 and playing on one down from the most difficult setting). I took out a level 18 Water Hag (mud thrower) last night but it took an hour and a half!

I've just left White Orchard and have only managed to hit level 3 :(

Those things are right b*stards. Imagine if you'd got that far in, time wise, and then got killed.

If I'm right in thinking, you could basically deplete the enemy life bar, distance yourself which allows you to then save, then go in and finish him off. At least you have a mid-point save.

It does seem to take a few hours of playing before you level up, it seemed to take FOREVER to reach level 8, then I was level 18 before I knew it.

That was my main concern... the fact that (with only a few blows) the creature could wipe me out! To be fair I spent most of the 1.5 hours running and recuperating before going in for another attack. I also used the crossbow from range but that only inflicted 20-something damage with a critical hit!

I think this will make it into my top-5 games of all time.
