Thermostat location?

Can anyone tell me where abouts the thermostat is on a 1.4RT? I found this picture but it nots very good lol

follow your top radiator hose to the cylinder head. the hose goes onto a ally part which is held to the head by two 10m bolts. undo these bolts and pull of the ally part to access the thermostat.

Is there any way I can test it as I think it is stuck open!

yup, take it out, if its open when you take it out then its stuck open cos it should only open when its hot

you can test it in a pan of water

I got a replacement today, looks like a 5 min job.

Will I lose much coolant from the block when I take the old one out?

Fair bit, will need to bleed it too.

Use it as an excuse to give it a good flush
