think 15" alloys are too small?

  2nd Black 1.2
mm a 1.2 cant really go.. if theyre in artha.. arth.. gun metal grey theyll look the t*ts i thought :)

il need springs then :/ i know coilovers are the best but apprentice wages + coilover = no money for petrol. haha

  2nd Black 1.2
bit late to 'not mod it'.. plus it only cost me a grand so its more of a project and run about until i get a daily runner, also why not? just cause its a 1.2 doesnt mean i dont want to be proud of my car, okay im not going to go to track and the rest, but id rather drive around being happy with the way my car looks that be driving in misery wishing i had a better car every time i sit in it.

Yeah it's totally your choice matey, but I'd rather put that money in the bank if I were you. Then in 18 months or so trade up, also your car will be worth more 2nd hard un-modded.

I had a 1.2 Clio as my first car. I didn't waste money on things like coilovers etc, as it's still going to be slow no matter what.

I just saved my money and got a 182 when I had years of driving under my belt.

You can still be 'proud' of it, but that doesn't mean you have to but loads of mods on it.

unfortunatly its 4th hand, with 108,000 miles.. so i dont think anyone will want it after me. haha, im saving money for a 172 already anyway, just want alloys instead of steelies and hub caps :/ and if springs make it look better with no wheel gap, im willing to spend £70 on springs :)

I agree with dan, but I havent done that lol. You'll be surprised with the fun you can have from decent springs/colleys and good tyres. But IMO save your cash for a 1#2

I think you'd be surprised tbh. You'll probably sell it fine to someone after their first car.

i hope whoevers after it is into car modding then! my seats are in the skip and replaced with buckets ectecet hahaha

  2nd Black 1.2
yeh, the seats were all sh*t stained and ripped when i bought the car so took'm out and found a pair of buckets cheaper than actual renault seats, so why naaae :)

i was helbent that my car was going to stay on 16" wheels, but they do look awesome on 15's and the benefit of better handling and feedback is far more important to me.

ours, on 15's with 195/50 888's, this was the day the Eibach springs were fitted, and the car had rolled forward about 30', it has since settled nicely.

i see no problem, to many of us it may seem a bit silly but if he has got them cheaper than renault seats and it allows him to have a little bit of pride in his car, then what harm is he really doing to the rest of the world.

we all started somewhere with a few mods and minor fettling ;)

Ha Ha, my first steps of modding was almost 20 years ago and consisted of dropping a 2L 16V vauxhall engine on NOS into a nova

well, that's a bit different to getting your pants in a knot over what size of wheel to attach to a shopping trolley isn't it :)

a NOS, red-top 2-litre Nova? Rapid death-trap?

it certainly went well, started to pull the car apart abit aswell, lol.

and a claim to shame, it was featured in Max Power back in September 1996.

i have moved on a bit tho now..... ;)

LOL at the bucket seat abuse.

They hold you firm around corners, no?

So why is it only acceptable to fit them in a 1*2 that goes faster in a straight line, and abuse is dished out if they're fitted in a lesser model?

1.2s can also go around corners you know?!

15's on a DB9 ? Stupidly small. Probably wouldn't get over the discs, let alone the callipers.

15's on a small French hatch ? Perfect. Lighter than larger wheels, tyres are cheaper too.

15's on a lowered small French hatch, even better.

:approve:

Don't go bigger than 16" on the Clio if you want to upgrade though. 16's are bad enough, tramlining, heavy etc.. 17's are just comical (on Clios) in every sense. 18's are LOLworthy.

agree with bigger than 16s, just look ridiculous.. just need the money to get the 15s now!

There was a thread similar to this where someone was saving for coilovers.

End reesult - Barrel-rolled into a field
