Think I've scratched my paintwork when cleaning my car! :( HELP!

  Racing Blue 182
As title, I cleaned my car the other day, and now on the bonnet it seems like there are a few very light scratches in a cleaning stroke motion where I quickly went over my car! I just used a sponge with some water and a pressure washer as it was a quick once over. Could some grit have got caught in the sponge and scratched my paintwork!? I didn't notice when I was cleaning! :(

Like I said its a few scratches that can only be seen in a certain light. What can I do to get rid of them guys? Any tips, would washing again and polishing/waxing do anything? Or can anyone recommend some scratch removers?

I will try and get some pictures up later!

Any help would be apreciated guys!!

Thanks!

Luke

Do people even use sponges anymore?! Get yourself a microfibre or wool wash mitt as this will help lift the dirt away.

Also, use the 2 bucket method. One is just clean water, one with your shampoo and water. After each panel or section of a panel rinse your mitt in the clean water which will help to stop dirt making it's way back onto the paint.

Yeah I know, I'm new to this whole car cleaning business coz I didn't bother with my first car! And I am yet to get the cleaning gear, I'm shoping around trying to find some good products, so any recommendations would be good :) Thanks for the tips mate! I will try that next time! Any views on getting rid of the scratches? :(

Buy some decent polish. I've found meguiars stuff to be pretty good for what it costs. It's not the top of the line stuff by any means but it's ok for what I need it for. There's a detailing section on here, have a look at that mate. Some really good information in there. Good luck.

Use a wash mitt in future, sponges trap dirt on the surface, mitts move it away.

The only way you will remove the swirls is by polishing, usually machine polishing unless you have arms of steel to work it for so long.

As people have said, look in the detailing section, there's a few decent RB's in there with the right products for the colour. ;)
