Hi everyone,
As the title would suggest, I am thinking of buying a clio 172, preferably a phase 2, mostly because I prefer the styling. I am going to have completed my masters in the beginning of sept and I am treating myself to some material wealth after so much education! I currently have a 1 litre Saxo, so I know this will be a big step-up and thus learning process.
I am looking to buy one for around £2000, so I'm not expecting a 'fresh' car.
Is there any buying tips/advice I need to look out for specifically for 172s? I have read that it is better to buy one with higher mileage and a good service history, rather than one with no-service history and lower mileage. Is that true? Also, is it critical that I have proof that the cambelt has been changed? Anything else I need to look out for?
Oh, and it is a minor question, but how good are the factory fitted speakers? I don't like my music so loud that everyone in the neighbourhood can hear it (amplifiers, bass boxes, etc) but do like my music loud I currently have some good front speakers in my Saxo, are these easily transferable? How easy is it to fit audio?
I'm not going to get one for a month or so yet, so I'm just reading up on them and getting advice, and hopefully I can be a more informed buyer
They do sound amazing for their price though
Thanks for your help
