Thinking of buying ipod

  Tangoed Works
Im thinking of buying an ipod nano to go with the new alpine ida x100 headunit (the one without a cd slot). Just wanted to know how you go about uploading tunes onto the ipod.

Can you only upload tunes that are downloaded from the itunes website, or can it be any tunes that you have stored on your pc?

Thanks for help.

You can put anything thats stored on your pc into itunes and then add to the ipod. You can also import cds onto it as well. Its all very simple.

Nice one mate, will be purchasing soon. I heard from someone that apple only let tunes downloaded off their I-tunes website on to the pod. Glad its not true.

Just don't expect the iPod to work... very shoddy build quality and dubious software issues are rife, especially on the Nano.

I've never had a problem with mine Brand???

Love it, got a 4gb 2g nano

I had a thread about iPods and their constant unreliability last week.... mine has been terrible, and the fact that they have a MASSIVE Support section on their website FULL of people with problems just speaks volumes. I don't know any other manufacturer that has this.

As a "premium" MP3 player I expect a lot better. If it worked it would be great, but it doesn't. Worst £200 I have ever spent. And yes I did take exceptional care of it and follow all the instructions and advice to the word.

In fairness though isn't the iPOD the dumbasses MP3 player of choice due to it being the main brand?

I mean people that know what they are doing often buy Zen Micros and the like but the Joe Sixpacks of this world will always buy iPOD's and PS3's etc.

Hence they are bound to have loads of people on their support section who are struggling to do basic tasks?

i havent had any problems with mine, i think they are popular just because they look nice. im not arsed if my mp3 player looks good or not as its just slung in my pocket, but at the time the nano was the best 4GB mp3 player going. it was tiny and i didnt want to watch videos so i got a nano.

I got suckered into an iPod due to having iTunes (which is a great piece of software). I then invested in a new car HU, with a digital iPod link, so stuck there too.

Would get a Creative or Sony mp3 player if not. Sony products have all been excellent from the ones I have owned. Now have a sony HU, Bravia LCD tv, component stereo, camera and sony-ericsson phone. Never owned a PS though actually... think because I don't like most mass market games so got an xbox. Ok, I just like driving and shooting people! ;)

I've got an 8GB nano and an 80GB video and both have been faultless. Only thing I'd knock is the headphones, the ones shipped with the unit are f**king awful.

I have a 4GB, I had one problem with mine but rang the Apple helpline and it was sorted in secs as they just told me how to reset, think that was due to some dodgy stuff I had on it though. Apart from that mines great, couldnt live without it, I love it.

I got an 8gb Nano which I'm incredibly happy with, a new shuffle that I got for the gym, and an old 60gb Photo. Not really used it in a while, as I'd really battered it while travelling around when working.
