Third Party Fire and theft on a 182?

  www.renparts.co.uk
I'm only 3rd party F&T on my 182, but Im only 20 and can't really afford/justify the cost for fully comp. Plus, my bf owns a clio breakers yard so if I smash it Il sell it to him & he can break it! *Hopefully that won't happen though!*:D

Tick tock tick tock......

lol at that

and to the OP, not sure what it will be come renewal, i only got the car at the end of april so paid an extra 112 to be insured until 19th june. (it was about 600 on a 1.25 fiesta before that)
Done a few quotes, reckon Il be looking at about 1200, but since I'm commuting to uni next year my dearest father has said he will contribute :approve: :star: yay!

I personally wouldn't go tpft on a 182. Then again I wouldn't spend a third of the cost of the car on insurance!

Month....pfft, I was thinkin perm ban.

If you haven't got one you have to post up a vid of yourself fake humping a chair in your boxer shorts shouting I need you revels.

Other wise you get a week off :p

Ill be calling brentacre later today.
Think its my claims i have had like 3years ago that affect me more than points i got 3years ago!
My postcode is really good though, but still getting daft quotes!
Luke..did you go with brentacre in the end?
Thanks

I'm TPFT because I'm 21 fully comp is min 1400 which I'm not paying.
I don't mind to much as 182's are not hardly an expensive car.
But I get my 4 years no claims in 3 months so might try again then
I have not convictions and I'm in a fair area post code category C

I was tpft on my ph1 172. That was worth half of what a 182 is and I still always thought I should have gone comp. Personally i'd go fully comp.

This subject is very touchy on this forum :rasp:

All I will say is I think its worth it for a year if the insurance difference is big between FC and TPFT AND you have the funds to replace the car in full should you crash (i.e you have £5k in the bank you could spend to replace the car and obviously the car has no finance outstanding)

Quite often I've found TPFT quotes to be the same or more than FC

I tend to do a piece of glass a year on average (over the last 14yrs) so if there's less than £100 in it, FC wins every time

At the moment,
Im 20,
1years no claim
1 accident
4points in 2007 with a 100fine.
Hu15 post code, so Category B so good.
Dont think i should be getting quotes as high as i am!

Your problems are:

You're young
You've had a claim, regardless of fault, but if it was a fault claim thats worse.
You're young
You have 4 points.
You're young

All of those added together = high insurance premiums.

This, but i'm an old git lol.

Stupid question, but have you tried any of the comparison websites? Always came up trumps when I was younger with a decent car!

comparison websites are s**t.

ring them up. I normally ring a good 30 companies each year.

If your planning on insuring TPFT, Why not think about looking for a well repaired CAT D car (As IIRC you can only insure them TPFT anyway), Should be cheaper to buy, then in the event you do bin it, you have not spunked as much money up the wall?
