This fell off my car!!

First thing this morning i'm driving down the road and hear a clunk then see something
bouncing down the road behind me, I turn around and go back up the street and a passer by
flags me down and says 'something just fell off your car mate' this was sitting in the road.

I've tried searching for the part number but i've had no joy, anyone know what it is?

I've driven from Nottingham to Coventry this morning and the car seems fine,
there's nothing hanging off, or any new clunks or rattles.

i think its your hoisting (or whatever its called) point off your engine

nope, will be worth keeping hold of incase you want to remove the engine.. although it can easily be done without

nope you can bolt it back on if you want but it doesnt really matter.

As everyone else has said, Just for hoisting the engiine out i belive.

As said, it's one of the engine lifting brackets.

Right i've had a look under the bonnet and there's no damage to anything as far as I can tell.

Top left bracket in this old pic of my engine.

that bottom right bracket with hole in from infront of the throttle body is the 2nd one if you want to remove both as they aint needed until you plan to remove the engine.

haha people tend to make them look pretty and paint them but they are fairly paintless for normal people tbh

if things are coming loose i would check your fuel rail gaurd because they seem to come loose over time too :S

its a renault, parts come loose all the time lol if you start going into dectective mode you will just find a world of hassle!

plus i will stress this part again ITS A RENAULT PARTS ALWAYS COME LOOSE!!!!!!!!!! lol

I thought this at first, but if I was using those points to pull the engine out i'd be sure as hell they where bolted to high heaven - probably just rattled off with it being bolted directly to the engine.
