2003 Clio 172
Right,
I have been reading numerous threads regarding the crazy heater behaviour when this "resistor pack/rheostat" goes potty.
There seem to be a few more of late, is it possible this extreme cold is having an effect on this?
I only ask as wifey has been driving my car the past few days as it hit -11 or so here and well, she usually drives a bee em. So i get all of that fun
She has told me (ususally involving the words "french", "s**t" and "b*****d") that the fan hasnt worked at all for her regardless of what she does. Now the car lives inside overnight and I started it this morning and the blowers came on no problem, i left it running and the car got toasty after which i turned it off.
Yet, when she got to work she called me and told me they wouldnt start at all.....I did show her how to use the CC so it isnt user error though i wish it was.
Does this intermittency sound like our usual affair?
I have NEVER experienced this myself, the only point of note i would make is that when ist on auto and the temp is set to like, 21 or something....the fans dont start for 5 or 10 minutes but in my mind, thats maybe ok as the engine is still cold and you will only be getting cold air.
Thoughts?
Andy
