ill have a silver 172- its a 52 plate with 30k on the clock, im getting it from a dealer- after wanting a 172 cup after having a play with it the other day but finding out i cant have it cos it was sold,i have come across one of these. i dunno if i should go for it though cos i really fell for the cup yesterday but ive been thinking although ive never had a drive of a 172, is it much difference?- the whole point of a cup is for the ability to drive it to its limits but to be honest im a bit of a wimp when it comes to driving- i never take it over 3k unless driving really fast and im not a racer type so why wait and get a cup that may never turn up, when i can have a 172 with leather and air con now? haha

is it a good idea or should i get a cup instead?

oh and i cant afford a 182 before anyone says haha

depends what you want, if you are going to be fitting strut braces and lightweight wheels etc, or taking it anywhere near a track you'll want the cup, if your only going to be using it on the road, then get the 172. I got a 172 for the aircon and leather, regret it now a little bit as the car doesn't get used much and will be used more for trackdays than anything else now, so wish I had a cup, but my circumstances have changed, for a road car (commute car) the 172 is better with its toys and little added bits of luxury as it were. Still love mine though

well thats the thing mate it would be a day to day car, i aint got a desire to take it to the track cos like i said im a wuss haha, i had my heart set on a cup cos i thought they were more special but i guess they are if your going to treat it the way it should be, nevertheless im really excited to get it
