Three wheel bolts

  Passat
Daft question I know. Am I ok with only three wheel nuts on each wheel? I'm not driving the car as such. Just need to move it a few hundred feet.

Not gonna do any damage am I?

A few hundred feet would be fine IMO. I'd not be taking it anywhere far though and certainly not at speed.

On my Impreza I lost one of the bolts and ran with 4 and it was fine, but they were 5 studs. Don't think I'd do the same with just 3.

Yeah, a few hundred feet should be fine, but don't give it any stick or take it long distances... just be careful! Make sure they are torqued up!

Legally you can.

I bought my second car a Clio 1.8 16v and booked it in to have exhaust done the day after I bought it.

Got pulled on the way as exhaust was loud and the copper noticed a wheel bolt missing, got the head traffic cop down to see if he could do me for it and he couldn't!

How I missed a bolt missing I do not no! I was young and naive I think!

Need some bolts?

I have a load of clio bolts spare, don't look the best but they are functional.

You can have a few if you want? I'm only in Halifax (Shelf).

Cheers Jenic, very kind mate.

Its all sorted now. I had some polarised locking wheel nuts on order that should have arrived days ago. I need them for the weekend so today was my last chance to receive them. Luckily they have now arrived so problem solved. They look great too actually. Pricey though.
