Three?

I've had enough of Orange p1ssing me about, if your a current customer they don't seem to give a sh1t.

You can quality deals these days with Three, and it looks like I'm a 3G Zone both at work and at home.

I called the technical service line and asked a silly question about pricing, the guy was a bit confused but gave me the answer in the end, got through quick enough, even if the call centre is in Asia.

So what are people's thoughts?

I've always been sceptical of them, but they've been around a few years now so hopefully ironed out all the problems, and probably no worse than any other network.

Also do they brand their phones? Or are they the straight unmessed with handset?

Yeah Orange are crap with existing customers.

My contract expired in april 06 I think it was but to get a decent new handset they wanted cash off me, so I called to see if they could do me a deal and basically got told no!

When I called them back to tell them I was leaving they didn't do anything at all to try and tempt me to stay, so I just went with 02 and got a new free handset.

Don't know what Three are like these days, they used to get a lot of bad press a few years ago but I haven't heard anything since.

i think 3 can ofer the some good deals but i thought they had poor reception. i had one a couple of years ago and i had to leave my phone in peoples kitchens just to get a signal :S

That's the phone I fancy, £17.50 for 12 months then £35 for six.

How's the phone? Is it three branded?

I'm on 3 - can't knock it TBH, good package of phone/minutes/texts etc for the money.

I know they had a lot of signal problems in previous years but I don't think that's much of a factor any more - certainly in my areas anyway.

I've been with three for a few years now, reception used to be a problem but I can't remember the last time I wasn't in a three receptions area (I do live in London but have also been around the country without problems). Indian call centre is okay for standard enquiries but if you have a problem just try and get to the Scottish one (apparently calling about 6pm gives you a good chance of getting through to Scotland), they have always been really helpful with me.

I've got the K800i too, top phone like all Sony Ericssons I've had. It is three branded but it's pretty discreet.

phone is quality, is branded, but its only a little 3. You can change your tariff after 6months so it dosnt have to be £35 is you dont want

i've been with orange for 8 years and i called up to cancel and they gave me exactly what i wanted to stay, brilliant deal and was better than the deal 3 were offering me.

I stayed with orange as i know them, they don't charge extra for email access and have very good rates for calls to and from the US which is a good thing for me.

I've been with 3 for a year. reception isn't that good here and I have to either stand by a window or go outside if I want to use the phone. customer service ain't that good from what i've had experience with so I never bother calling them anymore. I like the wepay thing though, gives me an extra tenner or so a month credit

What annoys me is that if I cancel it, and join as a "new" customer then I can get the phone I want free etc.

But because I'm an existing customer I have to pay a fee for it?

Just gets on my t1ts, why treat a new customer better than someone who has been with the company for that long?

^My brother had that problem... He used to argue that fact with them. When they said no he canceled his contract there and then then started a new one in the same phone call and got it free :S He eventually got pissed off and went to o2.

That's what I want to know, or if I can debrand it.

I'm sure the problems I've had with previous handsets have been down to Orange's branding rather than the actual handset.

It's the same with anything - once you are a customer, retention doesn't seem a main priority.

I had a 3 phone and I can categorically say it was the worst company I have ever dealt with, apart from maybe NTL. Their customer service is appaling, so bad that I wouldn't even contemplate using them again if they were giving away gold plated phones. I am now with Orange and entirely satisfied, as their customer services (in general) are very good, and you can understand what they are saying. This is by no means a racist comment at all, but call centres in India, some of their representatives have such strong accents I cannot understand them, which is very frustrating.

There is a lot more to a company than the face-value price. Personally, I would never, ever use 3 again because how badly they treated me, and other friends who used them.
