Throttle bodies group buy?

  Alfa Romeo 145 QV
Hi,

I seem to remeber a thread about an ITBs group buy, for a suggested £1700 for a fully comprehensive kit!.
Ive tried searching the topic but it was removed and i cant find any continuation since.
Did anything come of this or was it just the 'hopes and dreams' of a bored someone?

Cheers guys...

I was considering this and wondered if it was true,

so emailed Andy at GDI asking if they were doing a DIY throttle body kit and never recieved a reply.

Oh well wheres that link to Ktec!

£1700 wont cover a 'comprehensive kit'.

Unless there are volume sales, your asking a tuner give up the money he makes on labour and mapping in favour of mail order and instructions (which he would have to write FOC, and it would be LONG to prevent all day phonecalls with customers trying to fit the kits).

Then there is the fact that there is ALOT more to fitting ITB's than just the ITB kit, ECU and wiring.

I'd expect a FULLY comprehensive kit, meaning not having to purchase another part for installation, to be roughly £3-3.3k. Unless you really dont care about quality, and cable ties, breather filters and steel plates with holes in them are all AOK.

I had only raised the question having found an old thread.

By 'comprehensive kit' i mearly meant the hardware required for the installation. I know that there is already a custom loom available for use with an Omex ECU.

I wasnt suggesting the kit to be for DIY installation. Even the 'plug and play' kits available are to be installed by a competent person prior to being mapped for the specific application, not inexperienced people 'having a go' on their driveways,

I just wondered what happened to a thread which i think was suggesting using 'buyer power' or buying in larger quantities to get a decent discount for club members?
