Throttle Bodies

Hello,

Has anybody experienced problems with failing throttle bodies?

Mine has failed and I've heard it's common.

Any ideas?

i had had 2 go on my 172 cup in 80,000 miles.

I've had 3 in less than 30K!

Could it be to do with the R-Sport ECU, and can anything be done are there any after market products available?

Get the mk1 172 throttle body with a propper cable

How can you tell its gone (silly question maybe), what are the symptoms?

It doesn't work lol, prolly not opening fuully, or sticking or something similar

The engine goes in to 'get you home' mode and the light in the shape of a gearbox lights up - something about toxic fumes??

It has been replaced on warranty, dealer said they replaced the TB, but it's happened again, three times now.
