Throttle Bodies

couple of questions that have been bugging me as of late.

1. What is the tank for in this picture, looks like some sort of catch tank?

2. What is this pipe that looks like a garden hose for?

3. What sort of fuse should i be using to protect an Omex 600 ecu?

4. Theres two master cylinder breather pipes connected to the bottom of the throttle bodies, where do you connect these to? (obv the master cylinder pipes but where are they? lol)

my answer to 1 = that is an oil catch tank

so where is that running to?

there are 2 pipes going to the catch tank on the 1st pic (second one is hard to see)

the pipe going towards the front of the car will just be the breather that goes to atmosphere, the other pipe goes round onto the back of the plenham onto the oil breather outelt iirc

as standard the oil breather outlet has a pipe running somewhere into the air filter housing but with tb's this isnt possible

so do i need to run it with an oil catch tank or can i just use a breather filter?

i would advise using a catch tank

i ran my pug with just a breather filter on and it made the inside of the car stink! lol so i ended up getting a catch tank. also there is a chance of oil getting everywhere using just a filter

so u want to go from the breather outlet to a catch tank, then from the catch tank either to atmosphere or use a filter on the end of that. all you should have coming out then is very fine oil vapour as the catch tank should collect all the bigger particles, thats the theory anyway!

and also dont vent it to atmosphere anywhere near your wheels, try and find a safe place to vent it. thats what i was told.

2. Is a breather hose running to a catch tank or a remote breather/filter.

3. Omex manual is here: http://www.omextechnology.co.uk/Ecus/Downloads/600 055 net.doc would have thought it would say in that? Probably 15A or there abouts but depends how much you're driving off the ECU really.

4. Thats the vacuum feed for the brake servo. They need to T together then run into the brake servo to provide sufficent vacuum for full assist.

also hugely changes the whole drive of the car, lots more torque!!

Stops the oil vapour from reentering the inlet by collecting it in the tank, and allows the clean air to pass thru
