Throttle body cleaning

Anyone got any tips on removal/cleaning of the throttle body on a 172 cup? Is it worth trying to improve performance/lumpy running?

hi,i clean my throttle body every service,using carb/injector cleaner and a clean lint free cloth,this remove the carbon build up around the butterfly,stopping it sticking and helps to improve air flow when the throttle is open.try to be careful though as the throttle body is lined with a special coat of something(?) to help reduce carbon build up,hope this helps
