what throttle body can be fitted to the mk1 clio.... is it the laguna one?

what mm are they compared to standard? thanks

If it's for a 1.4RT then you can fit a TB from a 1.8 SPi Laguna iirc. It's not quite a staight fit though and not really worth it for the gains without further headwork etc from what I've heard.

I'm in the middle of sorting some engine mods on a RT. This laguna SPI is one of them.

You have to open up the inlet hole on the inlet manifold for 1,8mm diameter or so.

I'm also doing some mild headwork and inlet manifold porting with getting rid of the water circuit (here we never get under 5ºC even in ours colder winters).
Besides this, its going to have a supersprint 4-2-1 tubular exhaust manifold.
The rest is maintance: new valve springs, etc etc

Hope to get 100bhp out of this one

BUTRE, sounds like a beast you are going to make there. what extra performance from the laguna TB would you get if it was set up right... 1-2bhp?

I don't know if there is a need for a guide, I think it should be a simple unbolt the original one and the same x3 bolts hold the new one on. All that is needed is to port out the inlet so it matches the larger diameter.

Gain wise, I think it'd probably be like fitting the 65mm TB to the focus which, like you say perhaps 1-2bhp is gained but it makes acceleration sooo much more responsive. Coupled with other mods it'd probably show better gains. Well....... imo anyways!

I did this on my old 1.4rt before i found out about this site otherwise would have shared my progress as it seems like a pretty popular subject. Fitted the Laguno Throttle body (inlcudin the induction piping), ported inlet, 4-2-1 mani, decatted scorpion exhaust, made 92bhp!
