throttle pedal

Car  172 Cup
My car had been reving high recently after cleaning the throttle body and the ICV the problem has resolved itself. i noticed that if i push the throttle pedel down gently it seems to stick but if i pull it up from under the pedel it sorts itself out.

has anyone managed to find away or making the pedle reset fully?

my last one had a spring on it that pulled the pedal back.

regards

replace the throttle cable, or remove the pedal and give it a little refurb yourself.
Those are your options. Check that you didnt remove all the lube from the throttle body butterfly pivot when you cleaned it

I have the same problem. Just been for an MOT and the examiner mentioned it too.
I've cleaned out my throttle body, oiled my cable with a pressurised cable oiler and
also cleaned out the idle valve. Problem is still there!

I'm thinking it's either in the pedal or the throttle body is worn.
There is slight pitting in the ally where the butterfly meets the main
casting when closed.

Could this contribute?
