Throttle sticking

Has this happened to anyone out there? When driving the car seems to get stuck on 2000 rpm and have to rev the car up to get it to come down to normal tick over. Getting quite annoying as just started to happen and also quite dangerous as have to coast with the clutch down and rev the car when slowing down.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem? the throttle cable seems quite slack under the bonnet. Could this be the problem or is it something more technical?

Help me please as this is doing my head in and people think that I cant drive when i pull up to the lights with the car stuck on 2000 rpm especially with the exhaust on the car.

lol u need to change the trottle cable. its a commen fault on that car, mine went last week, took 20mins to change, look on the search for. 172 throttle cable theres a guide in there

I think there are magnets in mine, its always pulling itself to the floor.
