Ticking noise next to the battery.

Hey guys

Woke up today with the intention to heading of to work however the car wouldnt start...
I just turn the ignition and nothing happens other than a fast clicking noise next to the battery inside the box housing.
My thought is its either the battery or alternator?

Any ideas? Cheers.

Relay I'd think. Immobiliser or fuel pump (or both!?). Replace the lot. They're in a stupid place which collects water.

Renault are normally pretty cheap for these, if not, search for RS-online and try them...

starter motor I'd bet, try a bump start

mine did exactly the same the other week. turned the key to start and got a fast clicking noise, no attempt to fire or anything, sounded electrical. turned out to be a drained battery. booster pack to the rescue and it started fine first time. no problems since it had a good run to charge properly.
