ticking

Car  S4 (320bhp) + Clio 16v

lately my valver has started to sound like my mates 1.1 fiesta. like tappets. what could this be. its getting oil change next week will that help?

Mine never ticked before the goons at Renault put Magnatec in last september. I changed to Mobil 1 15W 50 after about a month and felt it was much better, but any 10W 40 should be fine as well Id have thought.

its most likely the tappets, your probably using an oil which is too thick and isnt lubeing the cam followers fast enough, does the sound go when its warm ?

Whats wrong with magnatec like? I was just about to do an oil and filter change using magnatec 10w40 in my valver, dont want to do it if its going to make it start ticking...

yer once warmed up a bit sounds a lot better but u can still here is slightly. Cant here it after a long drive though. so u recomend i change it to mobile 1 10w 40?

use 0w 40 mobil 1, but dont moan that u lose a bit, its worth it.

magnatec isnt the best

Can someone actually explain whats wrong with magnatec? It was bloody expensive...

what craig said

there has been so many people on here moan about magnatec ive lost count. and its all true, used it myself.

ive used it myself aswell, never again

for some reason it doesnt seem to agree with Clio engines, made over 20 peoples cars very tappety, stay away !

10W-50 Silkolene Pro S id recommend.........

but not many places sell it (i sell it ! lol)

it's true.!!!

i did an oil change 2 months ago and put in magnatec 5w-40. ever since, when on idle or below 2k revs, its sounded very tappety.

gonna change it again the next sunny day we get.

Anyone know why magnatec does this?
