Tie rod tool

I had my car in today to have tie rods and wheel alignment done

They didn't have the right tool to get the tie rods off and stilsons won't fit

Anyone know a tool for the job? All the ones I have seen are about £75!

Spanner?

I might be thinking of track rod ends...

i made my own, 30mm open end of a spanner cut off and a 1/2inch extension bar welded on at 90degrees

should have mentioned the car is a 197.

There are no flats on the 197 ball socket it needs a tool which bites o to the socket
