Hi ben,

it depends on what damage has been caused, if the engine stopped straight away, you might be lucky and be able to just put a new belt on there, if the engine continued to move, the chances are its dead, all the valves will collide with the pistons and bend them all, Easier to get a new engine if this is the case (If you dont know what your doing with them)

its the 172 64k stopped as soon as it happened. What else do you need?

Where did you source an engine for 200quid?

If you look under his name, it says 1.6 16v ;) You wont get an F4R for that money in decent working condition.

I think it's worth repairing rather than just swapping out the engine personally

Just buy a second-hand head, have a light skim, and fit it up...job done. No need to go swapping engines.

I had both belts changed yesterday by Renault_wiz, (Ed).

And this is what we found on my Aux belt.

If you're having your cambelt done, my humble advice

is, get your Aux done too! I didn't at the last cam belt change

and I am soooo glad i have now had it done.

I felt sick when I saw this!!!!!
