Timing belt, water pump and aux belt

Hey there

My mate changed my timing belt today in my clio 182 using the gates kit with the proper locking tools and all that side of things is fine, while the belts were off we noticed the water pump was on its last legs (signs of leaking) so that was replaced also, now for love or hell we couldnt get into the tensioner on the aux belt side of things so we only fitted a new belt

My question is does the tensioner on that side of things need to be replaced? the car is an 04 and just short of 57k or will just changing the belt and water pump suffice?

Regards

its 2 bolts holding it on, one is an 8mm allen key head the other is an E12 torx

that was the problem, we could get the top bolt out no bother, but the allan key even i couldnt get near with my skinny hands, is there an easier way to get to it?

Yep you can get in behind where the head light sits with an extention when you push the engine back.

I also remove the alternator to get the tensioner out danny. How to you do it?

hmmm,i tried that with no joy, hence removing the alternator.

i suppose it depends how far up you jack the motor.
either way, its not exactly a big job to remove the alternator...
