Timing issues!

Erm a local garage said they could come up on Monday to help me but I don't know whether to trust them? Although my engine isn't a particular complicated one

Nah only the rocker cover off. Do it cold, 0.635mm exh, 0.254mm inlet

Ok sounds stupid but where do I do the measurements? And do you not think its the timing then?

It could be timing, difficult to say without seeing it! But eliminate the small stuff. Measure between the tip of the rocker a d the valve stem

Hmm I will see what the bloke says on Monday, I reckon it's the timing so will sort that out and if it doesn't help I will check the valve clearences? What do you reckon?
