timing without a flywheel attached.

as above how the hell do I do this without getting it wrong and destroying the engine?.
the crank face has no key way to get the flywheel allined. so guessing the tdc is like playing pass the parcel with grenades lol
any help appreciated thanks

that goes for Renaults and nissans dci lumps?
the rover kseries I have at work don't seem to have offsets. I could be wrong so I aint being a c**t :eek:
 
  Volvo S60 T5
Evey flywheel I have ever fitted has offset bolt holes or a locating lug, never fitted on wrong on any make yet
locating lug on the rover engine

cheers, i'll have a go tomorrow for a mock up. better to check on here than me go full belt into it and do something catastrophic ( sp )
