tints - 50% all around

ok im getting tints done for free by a friend

i was wondering if anyone had pics of 50% tint all around as thats what i plan on getting.

is it noticable?

or should i go for 35%?/40%?

cheers

^^ on the front windows there is a factory standard 12% ish tint, so even if you had 'light smoke' tints on front - they will be illegal, 21st century tints in poole was being watched by VOSA because he doe all the brand new range rovers from christchurch.

... because light smoke is 30% which is the max allowance, so would make total of 42 ish...

maybe it depends on area? coz u dnt seem to get trouble around here, i know loadsa mates with 35% all around n have had them for years

may just go for 35 on bak and 50 on front? or is the difference between back and front rly noticable like that?

I asked VOSA to test my standard front window on my old clio.

Came out at 28.8% standard. (30% is the limit)

I had a very light tint on the front, measuring in total 38% but still had to get it removed (had it on 4years!!)

It was very light so never had any problem. Didnt get a fine or anything, just a 14 day pro notice (i was lucky)

He did say tho, if it was any darker i would have to have taken them off instantly and also be fined.

yes there is, wouldnt risk it, if you travel out of your are, so somewhere a little more strict, you get a fine, and will have to take them off. nay bohter with them

If you crash and and hit a 3rd party, your insurance will laugh in your face if you have 50% on the fronts.

dont get the fronts done, i had 50's in the back 3 and 30's on the front and i got pulled. me an the missis were scraping them off with our nails on the side of the motorway. imo, just get a light tint on the rear 3 and leave our fronts ones be, as they are tinted by the maker to the maximum allowed by VOSA.

Nevermind it will be your fault for driving of the road into that tree at night because you couldn't see clearly out the front of the car

One thing people always forget when looking at tints and going "Oh that's only a 30% tint it should be legal"...glass is not 100% clear usually around 90% without any film on it.

And the law was changed that you can now receive a fine and points for seriously tinted cars due to the car being classified as non road worthy or dangerous.

Also the person or company doing the tints can also be done now too.

dont get it, why do people want to do the front,
as when the sides & back are done car looks dark inside anyway....

There was a guy near where I used to work, running an S3 with the windscreen tinted. Got pulled outside the shop, the police were actually laughing at the dozy pillock. Couldn't get the tint off, so had to be towed.
