Tips on buying

Hi

Well my girlfriend has now passed her test and wants a car.....you know the scene (searching the internet and going to dodgy dealers)

She really wants a Clio like mine......says its just her size......

So having virtually next to no mechanical knowledge and taking a chance on the dealer i bought my Clio from.....i need tips from you good people on what to look out for when buying a clio....

You know dodgy areas to look out for.....things that make a clio untouchable.....and things that point to a good clio.....!!!!!

She wants a 1.2 or similar coz of insurance.....so any suggestions on any good places to buy one from.....or if any of you lot have one going spare or for sale at a cheapish price in the Birmingham area would be gratefully received..... erm i can trust you lot cant i

Preferably she would like a new shape clio....mark2....not the new new shape.....too expensive...

I had a water pump die on my old W reg 1.2, dont think its a common fault but was only 3 years old and was expensive to fix. Also gotta love those rattling sun roofs.

How much is she looking to spend?

Best best is away from a Reanult dealership. Id recomend Vauxhalls Network Q best after sales Ive ever had and my car was a Ford costing 1/3 the price my Clio. (although they never did fix my cars problem least they tried).

But she (well we) just went and bought a Pug...... only thing is it aint a Clio she be a traitor to our cause.....!!!!!!!

A lovely peugeot 206 LX in metallic red, only a lil 1.1 but were pleased with it......

Its got power steering and electric windows with 32000 miles.....also comes with a 12 month warranty, full tank of petrol, and six months tax....a T reg..... she paid £3900 is this a good price?
