To Self Service or Not To Self Service...

  Ph2 Clio 172
Hi All

My 172 FF needs a service. I'm likely to never sell it so im not bothered about taking to to Renault (its got 90k on it and is 8 years old anyway) but im undecided as to wether to do it myself or get my local garage to do it.

I have bought all the parts so would just be paying labour. But I have very little mechanical skills. Ive fixed a dead starter motor with a hammer and changed and air filter on an old Fiesta, and thats about it :).

Who here has serviced their Clio themselves with minimal knowledge? There are lots of good guide on here. How was it? Nice and simple, just take your time? Or absolute nightmare never touch it again with a barge pole?

I just dont want to brake it.

Cheers

If you are not confident then just pay as it would just save the hassle. but tbf its not to bad if theres no belts involved!

Service is a peice of piss on the RSs, Apart from belts.

I like to take it someone who knows what there doing as they check over the car and should know better than i do if it's worn out, broke etc.

Also hate to say it, but no such thing as a 172 FF
