Another great Cliosport day out. As usual Im totally exhausted now, and glowing red with sun burn.

Thanks to everyone who came. And well done all of you who bettered your times from last week, or who ran for the first time :D

Ive moved this thread to General Chat so more people see it. This was at the request of someone who ran a nice time in his Williams 1 ;) and wants to show off.

Oh god, were only getting a build up :D

I wasnt going to blame the heat, but 37 degrees was somewhat on the warm side!! ;)

Williams 1 mate, Lee whats up with your temp gauge????? 37?????? it was about 30degC on mine and Jills gauges

the heat was killing most times early on, got better towards the end of the day

in my 1.2 16v i run

18.541
18.540
18.900
18.245
18.242

then in bubbles 1.8 16v i run

16.8 (missed 2nd to 3rd gearchange)
16.5 (didnt drive to the limiter, plenty more to come from her little valver)

Sh1t, thats the replacement gauge too. It must already be on the blink

Last time if packed in it showed high, then higher, then very very high!!

Ill go and see if its calmed down and put the car in the garage. The little un deserves a rest after today.

i was quite chuffed with the times in bubbles valver, seeing as it was the first time i had even sat in the car

even bubbles was happy with the times, there is a lot more potential from that car

yeah i got the times back down eventually, got to the point where i was launching from 5000rpm just to pull from the line without bogging down, i was getting too much grip earlier in the day

roamer, youre times were very very respectable on a day like today where the hat was causing all sorts of problems

Back to York next weekend for me, this time stripped out, minimal petrol and bodge job induction kits. Anyone break the 14s today, or was it too warm?

Ok, Id better tell ya me last two runs eh....???

Ok, run number 3 was......

15.251

And run number 5 was......

My personal best so far........

14.923 :D

(Run number 4 was in JillyBs 172 where I think I got a 15.9)

yeah suppose youre right there roamer

i just had no other information to go on

apart from it was a low 14.9

Roamer, were you running stripped out? Is the Williams standard?

Rhys

Ps: Well done Kathy, but it just proves that silver ones are faster.....muahaha ;)

Oh and my car was full interior again didnt get a chance to strip it yesterday and didnt want to do it there.

hehe you saying you spur me on?

i think its more a case of fear of being embarrassed by the mighty 1.2 that forces you to try your hardest ;)

  S2000

Oh yes ive said all along they aint quick ;)

Mine was a .942 :( git

My back seats ARE coming out next time ;)

And yeah fastest on the day, I still have a faster time hehe

true

yeah the v6s best was 15.2, put in a couple of 15.3s and a 15.4

wayne, i will bring my toolkit of you like, just to make sure you do actually do it and have no excuses

Great day out and good to meet with some of you guys - my virgin run was 15.6 and it went down hill from there, adjusted the T/C for more slip after each run, but that just made it bog down more (now I know how it works!), need to get the launch control fixed, before the next meet and who knows..... addictive stuff this...

Phew I am sooo tired.

Right - runs list :)

in order of what they are in the pile in front of me:

15.18

15.17

15.27

14.96 (thank god for that)

15.36

15.22

15.08

15.06

15.17

15.07

15.10

best reaction time:

legal - .548

illegal - .281

best races of the day:

beating a civic type r quite comfortably (however the chap wasnt au fait with the start sequence)

roamer and I having a cracking neck and neck which ended up with him having 14.9 and me having 15.1 or something like that

and racing an integra type r (import new shape) and getting beaten faily and squarely.

am so sunburned and tired now that i would like to die.

worst moment of the day: see lightweight windscreen post.
